The Southern Blue Collar Band
The band will be playing from 8:00pm until 1:00pm.
A raunchy 3-pce “Blues” band consisting of guitar, bass & drums - specialising in Blues & Soul Music, plus some covers and adaptations in their own unique style.
 The members, Greer Wilcox, John Ellis and Phil Pritchard play awesome, down-to-earth Blues, Soul with a touch of good old Rock-n-Roll thrown in occasionally. Although, the Band has become known for their driving Blues-Rock, slide-blues, jazz-blues, soul-blues and blues-funk. They are currently recording two new CD’s - No.4 & 5 and then on to further recordings of a host of original material written by the members.
 Phil is brilliant with the musical arrangements and John has a natural gift as a lyricist. Greer has now converted 100% to 5 string bass and after a confusing settling-in period, has really come to terms with he versatility it can offer. He too has a few original songs to “throw in the pot”.
One of the unique, and special differences with this Band (you may remember) is that the Lead vocalist is also the drummer ! We don’t know how he does it ! The Band performs mostly covers music, but most tracks are less commonly heard numbers. The Band’s own adaptations and arrangements of non-original material is what they prefer. This way their own individual expression can be included in the music. Whilst the Band currently does not have a keyboard player on board, there is a possibility of this inclusion, however the Band members have to remain aware of the economics these days – unfortunately !
 Some of the Artists that the Band aspire to are: Sonny Terry, Muddy Waters, Junior Wells, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Hendrix, Cream, Van Morrison, John Mayall, Gary Moore, Chuck Berry & Bo Diddley, Wilson Pickett, Rolling Stones, ZZ Top, Lonnie Mack, Etta James, John Mayall, Doctor John – to name but a few !
