I have chartered Major Tom II for 5 days, Monday 31st October thru to Friday 4th November.  We shall be setting off from Russell each day and returning same day.  The boat can take 6 anglers (out wide) and 12 anglers in close.  Fishing will be for Big Snapper/Kingfish and weather permitting Bluenose and Hapuka out wide and the usual Snapper/Terakihi fishing in-close.

The above costs, are the charter rates, but I can assure you you'll have a great time, as we have fished on Major Tom II before and had a great time.  If the weathers bad, then we will not go fishing, will play golf instead!  Putting the costs into perspective, I went out over Christmas for a half day for Kingfish and paid $180 for just myself.

Major Tom II is a serious fishing boat with a fun crew. She is owned and operated by Geoff and Heather Stone, who along with their anglers, hold numerous Club, New Zealand, and even World Records for marlin, broadbill, swordfish, shark, tuna, kingfish, snapper and sea bass. For two of the last three seasons, Major Tom II has collected the Bay of Islands premium awards for both Most Gamefish, and Most Gamefish Tagged.

Powered by Twin 300 HP Cummins, Major Tom II has top speeds of 30 knots and a cruising speed of 20 knots to make her one of the fastest 40 footers in the Bay, and give her clients more fishing time.

Major Tom II is surveyed for Extreme Limits and the Three Kings, but is as much at home giving space and comfort to inshore snapper and kingfish anglerls, as she is cruising in blue water to reward those who want to chase marlin, broadbill swordfish, tuna, sharks or hapuka in the deep.

For the fish-aholic crew of Major Tom II, keeping the boat busy is their top priority, and prospective clients will find the charter rates extremely competitive, whether for part, full or multiple day charters.

Major Tom II is supplied with plenty of top quality gear for all types of angling, including salt-water fly fishing, but clients are encouraged to bring their own favourite rods and reels for light, ultra light and salt-water fly.

Make sure you have secured your place on the boat.  Any "disabled" checkbox means someone's already booked that slot - sorry first come, first served.  Room at the bach Sunday thru Thursday night for fishermen, so no accomodation issues.

You need to click on the link sent on your email invite to be able to book your slot on the fishing. If you no longer have the email, contact me and I'll re-send.
